Had the bushings replaced on Friday... clunk remains when hooked up. No sign of it unhooked. Increasing air bag pressure from 22 to 45 seemed to diminish it a little bit, but it was still present.

I can hear it over rougher roads, feel it in my feet, but see nothing that could be causing it. I refuse to believe it is anything other than the suspension, but I could be wrong. The hitch can't be causing it, could it? Everything is tight back there, and it has 2500 pounds (give or take) sitting on it.

Have you considered putting a dab of grease on your slip joint?

I have the exact same thing when hooked to my fifth wheel camper. What's happening on mine is the overload spring sits just below the stop on the frame with my camper on so every time i hit a bump they make contact. If i put firewood in the back of the truck with the camper the spring rides on the stop full time and no clunk. Once i unhook, the spring is a few inches from the stop and the clunk goes away. Not sure if the setup is the same on your 2011 but its worth a shot.

That makes complete sense! Does yours do it on both sides or just one? Mine is just on the left side. That could explain why jacking the bags way up reduces it.

Clunk

Mine does it on both sides. If that's the problem with yours you could have one spring sagged a little more than the other or your camper might be a little heavier on one side causing the right side to not do it.
