Morning this one is for Bill, yesterday I was looking on ebay and saw a 1966 Ford F100 Ranger. Yeah I know easy to say hard to prove. But he did post a shot of the warranty tag and it had 1T81 as the trim code. Now T81 would make it a ranger but whats with the 1 in front? was it a special trim package for the Ranger?
I've run across 3 others with the 1T81 before. I've got pics of the warranty plate of at least one of those. It's the all black vinyl bucket seats. No mystery.
T - Black crinkle vinyl and black rosette pattern vinyl
U - Parchment crinkle vinyl and black rosette pattern vinyl
V - Red crinkle vinyl and red rosette pattern vinyl
1T - Black crinkle all vinyl
This one I assume. This is the same one that was for sale in Puyallup, WA that I have pics of the warranty plate. Wow, originally the guy in Puyallup was asking 16,000 on Craigslist. I saw his price gradually drop to 12,000 or less. This truck was sold new at Bowen-Scarff Ford in Kent,WA. Dealership is still in business. My buddy bought his 1966 F250 4x4 brand new at the same dealership and still has his truck. It's got over 450,000 miles on it but there are very few finer examples in the world.
This is sort of interesting. Look at the drivers inside door pull in the eBay ad and then look at the same location in the older pictures that I posted. Notice anything odd?

1T81 = Black Crinkle all Vinyl (Bucket Seats) / 81B = Custom Cab with Ranger Package.
Might be other names for the same color. I'd have to do a little checking. But, the truck was Emberglo Brown according to the guy I talked to on the phone. But the eBay ad says Autumn Bronze so maybe that's the actual name on the invoice, not sure - that guy I talked to back then said he was the original owner or bought it from the original owner. But, I never went and met the guy personally or saw the invoice so just going by what he told me. Might still be the same guy, I'll check some things later when I get a chance.
