Need some wiring diagrams if possible. We are heading to Marco Island next Saturday and I'd like to be able to use the rear controls for headphone use only. Since installing our aftermarket head unit they have not worked but I can play the RES dvd sound through the speakers...I don't want to listen to Thomas the Train and Sophia the First for 16 hours.
Anyone have a breakdown on which wires power the rear controls and which provide the sound?
Since I don't know what head unit you have or what did system I'll just point you in a general direction.
Does your head unit support dual zone ? The setting is going to be in the head unit not the wiring.
Does the power light come on the head phones ? If not replace the batteries, If I recall there is a 2 button sequence you have to press to make the head phones connect. , Final check.... Make certain the headphone volume dial is turned up
Sorry, should have added more details. I installed a JVC/Kenwood head unit with dual zone but I want to use the wired headphones in the center console. Since the install of the head unit I do not have power to this control panel for volume or power to the headphone jacks. I know it is a wire set in the second plug but need to know which wire set.
Ya youll have to trace it out, that little panel has a bunch of functions that you wont be able to use anymore, but it IS a powered headphone amplifier. I didnt need it so never bothered to figure it out. Shouldnt be that hard but would take some time.
Even with an aftermarket deck the is still an audio signal present in the center console, so it must be taking a signal from the front or rear speakers, but that is as far as I went with it.

Just got some diagrams emailed to me from another member. Should be too crazy from what I'm looking at now.
You are saying that the audio signal is still present at the control panel? If so this should make it even easier. Will get into this on Friday and document it incase anyone else runs into the same issues. If the audio signal is present it should be a power/ground issue.
Thanks for all the input 03X and pirate4x4_camo. And thanks to jpr38057 for the diagrams. Reps sent to all.
