Just a cold weather tale
So last week had a rough start, went through the goodies of charging the batteries, then load testing them ( small load tested, but load tested real well). I then had a flicker of the battery light while driving. Pulled off the alternator and learned the rectifier as well as the Diode was shot. Replaced the alternator. Today, go to start the truck, not start. Wth. Truck is on the charger, need to get somewhere to do an alternator check again I guess.

I went through an issue this winter where I had a rough cold start (doesn't normally happen on Stinky). I looked at the grounds to each battery and found a loose ground on the driver side. I tested this by looking at the ohms from the ground cable at each battery (separate grounds) to the block. I removed both cables from the block, cleaned the contact points, reattached, and tested again to be sure. It took about 4 tries on the driver side with ever more aggressive cleaning to get a good bond.
I'm not implying this is your answer, but it's a viable test to eliminate one possibility.
