I was just looking to hook up my 2nd usb on my new 2016 SD, but when i looked on the box there is only one usb on the board. My 2014 had 2 usb ports. Do i need to upgrade module or can i somehow split single usb into 2?
Not sure how it works with Sync, but by design according to the IEEE Specs a USB port can handle up to 5024 devices on a single port with a splitter. That is the USB standard, no idea if Sync will support that. Could always try.
Um, I believe it's 1024 USB devices, using powered hubs. You cannot get enough power from a regular USB2 port to do anything like this.
You MAY be able to buy a 'splitter' cable for this specific circumstance, which is likely to just plug in and charge two usb devices at once [and maybe even support SYNC with one of them], but the two devices will charge slower if just one device was attached at a time.

Are you looking at the actual sync module (APIM) on the passenger side of the truck on the A pillar behind the glove box? Or is the one port you are seeing in the compartment in the center of the dash?
