We are looking into purchasing a 96 f250xlt 4x4 with a 7.3 diesel to add to our family. Needing advice on common problems with the transmission it has in it. It's an e4od Trans. Any advice would be great. They want 6600 for it and it has 244k on it.

 

That seems expensive for a 20 year old truck. Is the body mint?

 

I would stay away from a 244K truck unless it was very cheap (and not in this case), in great condition (which you did not say), and had detailed or known service history .

even standard wear items will add up if you just happen to need them all now.
