Hello everyone
I am a beginner in this area because all my adult life Ihave had either GMC or Chevy trucks and vans for tow vehicles.
GM has literally kicked me to the curb in their arrogancethrough lack of variety, availability and standardization of chassis'.
So here I am.
I have found through studying the Ford Truck Body BuilderAdvisory Service Publications that the Ford E150, E250 and E350 Chassis bodymounting points are the same as long as you stay with the 138 inch wheelbase. The 138 inch wheel base covers the12 passenger van the 15 passenger van the E series cube vans and the shortbusses.
So I am looking for an E350 diesel van 138 inch wheel basewith relatively low mileage with a damaged body and a gasser 12 or 8 passengerE350, E250 or E150 with a clean body. Iplan to take the two and build what I want.So far as performance at least 150 HP and 400+ Foot pounds oftorque. The stock 7.3L covers this andas far as I can determine, because the 2003 7.3L is an electronic fuelinjection a programmer, enlarged exhaust and an intake system with less restriction 500foot lbs is easily obtainable.
So what are your opinions???
