My son got his license in May, he learned to drive on all of our cars including the Ex. His primary car is our 2000 Durango. I kept the Durango around as a spare care for several years. 1. We are the original owners. 2) I know the history of the SUV 3.) it has low miles 4.) I already own it and don't have to buy anything else.
IMO keep the Expedition for him, it is way safer than other cars on the road and there are plenty of replacement parts out there. Plus, most boys don't want to be seen in a mommy-mobile mini van.
Well Guys, we just sold the Expedition. I had the ad up for 7 weeks with only one bite that was a lowball. We decided we we were just going to hang on to it since we didn't want to sell too low. Then we got a call last night. Decided to let them come look at it. They offered us a fair deal and we took it. $2600 OVER what Carfax offered us which we knew was wholesale pricing.
Over the last 7 weeks it mostly sat. We just paid registration on it which stinks. On the bright side it was a nice, young Catholic couple with a newborn baby. Softens the blow a little. I'll miss it and hopefully won't regret it but will get more $ for it if we sell it now than wait a year.
