Considering Trading My EB or Mustang for an Expedition or Excurson...

Greetings all...

I have 2 rides I'm looking to sell and/or trade so I can get something a little more "family friendly".

I've had a 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition before and I LOVED IT!!! I had an 08 F350 up until recently and I LOVED IT!!! So, I'm fully aware of how these BIG RIGS ride and the cost of operation...

If anyone knows of anyone selling or willing to trade for either a decent on gas convertible car or a TOY Early Bronco, please send em my way...

The car is an 04 Stang Convertible... 6 cyl, 5 speed with some THUMP. Fun car to drive. But, not practicle for a family of 8. The Bronco is a 73 Roadster (no top or doors). Was a beach cruiser I picked up in CA over the past year. Doesn't do me much good now...

TIA

Good luck to you with it, I would actually consider selling if I were you. A fun convertible that is good on gas is in pretty high demand these days and people are ALWAYS looking for project Broncos especially if it has little or no rust.

Expy vs Excursion is tough, I chose an Expy for a few reasons: Price, amenities, cost of maintenance and driveability but if I had to do it all over again... I don't know we now have a lot of pets and if I get orders it is going to be tough to fit 3 English Mastiffs, ourselves and our 2 exotic birds plus luggage in that Expy... an Excursion would not be an issue...

Yeah, I really enjoyed my Expedition. Only thing I did to it was slightly oversized BFG AT/KOs... Took the thing EVERYWHERE... Even places I thought only my Jeep would go. But the Expedition did quite well offroad...

BUT, with a family of 8... Expedition isn't big enough to go on a week vacation... Especially since 7 of the 8 are girls...

I agree wholeheartedly!!! Now, just to sell my Stang and Bronco so I can afford a cheap ($10K range) Excursion and pay cash for it...

Why not? I mean that seriously. If you can find a comparable Excursion to an Expedition for close to the same price then there is pretty much 0 reason to go with the Expy. The V10 does not get that much worse gas mileage than the 5.4L V8 and the PSD actually gets better mileage although that can be offset by maintenance costs... They haul more, tow more, sit up higher and are safer.

Only reason I got an Expy honestly was 1-lack of research which is totally my fault and 2-I could not get a fully loaded low mileage Excursion for $12.5k which is what I paid for my 03 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I do like the ridiculously tight (for its size) turning radius of the Expy and the smooth ride, it is probably the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned, it just sucks when I want to load up the wife/kid/dogs and we're already packed full.
