Does anyone know or have the proper paint color code for the inlay on the 48-52 Mercury trucks ie: pinstripe on grills, hood emblem, M-68 side of cab emblems, etc...
Thanks
I see that you haven't gotten much of a response to your question. No, I don't have a paint code for the red used on the '48-'50 Mercury truck. There was not much red left on the trim that I had so I took a guess at what red I would use. I finally settled on Fire Red. Rust Check was the brand that I used. It turned out to be just what I was looking for. Unfortunately there is not a lot of information for us Mercury truck owners. On a '52 Mercury that I looked at years ago there was a hint of blue on the mercury trim pieces. Again not enough so you would have to go with your best guess. No '51-'52 Mercury truck guys have come on to FTE with any thoughts on this blue so far so can't help again. Well you know what I did. Hope this is of some help. Greg M-47
Oh and welcome to the Ford Truck Enthusiast Forum. A lot of good people on here willing to help. Just not a lot of information on Mercury specific questions. Greg M-47
Pierre - welcome, glad you found your way here from the Ford Barn. On this you've really asked a hard question. I've got NOS red inset trim pieces for my truck that may be similar to the Merc color, but am aware of no reference that gives codes for these colors for Ford or Merc. Logic suggests it would be the same Vermillion used as a standard body color, but it's just a guess. Stu
