An aftermarket cold air intake (to replace the factory cold air intake......) will make more noise but no real increase in power, torque or mileage.
Spend your money somewhere else that may actually improve your performance. Does your V-10 have the horrific T pipe instead of a Y pipe where the two banks of exhaust merge? If so, that would be a good place to throw that CAI money, convert it to a smooth real Y pipe.
its mostly used on f150 trucks. its the snorkel in front of the housing where you put a piece of 3'' diameter pipe since the old one is resticted to 2 1/4'' I think?
Ignore the K&N sticker, I just pulled that pic off the internet and would never put that crap on my truck. Just run a nice (NOT FRAM!!!) paper filter and be done with it.
What year is your Excursion? You may have the ram born style y-pipe. 5star tuning sells the SPD y-pipe that may interest you if the headers are to much. Headers run $800-$1000+
