Looking for pictures of peoples v10 x's with cold air intakes on them. And what brand are you using. And was wondering if it made a difference in mpg

Stock with Zoodad Mod. There is no need for a CAI on your V10 as Ford equipped it with one from the factory.

An aftermarket cold air intake (to replace the factory cold air intake......
) will make more noise but no real increase in power, torque or mileage.
Spend your money somewhere else that may actually improve your performance. Does your V-10 have the horrific T pipe instead of a Y pipe where the two banks of exhaust merge? If so, that would be a good place to throw that CAI money, convert it to a smooth real Y pipe.

What's a zoodad mod? And no mine doesn't have that t in my y-pipe.... the other thing I was going to look into was to try and find maybe headers.

Bigtom, Tom is talking about the Y pipe having more of a T design. If yours is stock and hasn't already been changed into a Y, it'll be a T.
This is a picture of the stock exhaust, and of the Y pipe that comes with the banks header kit.
Tom talked me into doing the Banks header kit, and I'm glad I did. Pricey, but well worth it.

Zoodad mod is a hole in the panel in front of your intake. Hole saw worked for me.

its mostly used on f150 trucks. its the snorkel in front of the housing where you put a piece of 3'' diameter pipe since the old one is resticted to 2 1/4'' I think?

Ignore the K&N sticker, I just pulled that pic off the internet and would never put that crap on my truck. Just run a nice (NOT FRAM!!!) paper filter and be done with it.

What year is your Excursion? You may have the ram born style y-pipe. 5star tuning sells the SPD y-pipe that may interest you if the headers are to much. Headers run $800-$1000+

Wow! You guys really hate K&N intakes!
I've ran them for several years on different vehicles and never had an issue.

Its not hate, its mostly the price for what it is, besides the stock one flows enough air for the engine.
Now K&N and diesels dont go together
