That's only 10,000 more miles than my 7.3. But my trans only has about 12,000 miles on it. If it was well maintained I wouldn't see a problem buying it.
Ok thank you for the quick reply. Any way I can test the transmission out other than check the fluid on the dipstick and see if it's burnt or whatever?
Yes it is rust free no oil pan rust either. It is a 4wd and located from Indiana.
Mechanically (drivetrain), you will be fine, the items that may need addressed include: bearing assemblies, electronics, door actuators, sticking caliper pins, sway bar links, transmission linkage adjustment, batteries, starters, alternators, ... yeah everything but the engine.
Oil changes are 15 QTS, use a synthetic.
Unless the vehicle was stored during the SALT months it has rust in the pinch weld.
Currently (due to low petroleum prices) Excursion resale values are higher, IIRC the price of $13,XXX is on the high side but not outrageous.
Yea he has maintained the truck nicely I will get the full line up of service records. Soon. I read about the oil changes and bearings. I haven't seen the truck in person yet I am going Saturday after work to look. I will check the pinch welds but it is kept in a garage that's heated during the winter. When I go check out the truck I am planning on offering 11k and trying to stand firm around that number.
