Questions for Future Topics
Lights, Bells, and Whistles
Hello all, I have a 2012 F-350 4X4 with 6.7 Diesel. I would to hear about the ability to control the lights and bells on my truck, turn off and on. I use the truck when night hunting for hogs. I can not use it and have to ride with my GM buddies because when we roll up to fields I can not turn off all of the lights. Then after stopping to get out, you open the doors and it looks and sounds like you are at a party with all of the lights and chimes! I love my truck but have to leave it on the porch because I can't play with the big dogs.

We're listening and have added a thread about EcoBoost recently and we'll continue to add topic threads that folks want to discuss. However, there are certain questions and comments that don't follow the Rules of the Road so we cannot discuss them. We're glad folks want to ask the Engineers questions, and we welcome more discussion here for future topic consideration.
I just (3/7/16) purchased a 2016 F250 Lariat (loaded) CC 4x4, 6.2L. Love the truck.
Just wondering why Ford is so resistant on having Daytime Running Lights? Why is this not user configurable on the SD?

I thought the new vehicles DO have DRL? My 2015 F-150 (XLT) does.
2016 F550 6.7 Fuel economy and gearing
I have 2 trucks that are very similar, bucket trucks and I have compared the tech specs for HP, torque, weight, tire size, and trany gears. My new F550 is getting about 8 MPG, with a 4.88 diff. Turn about 2200 RPM at 65MPG.
By comparison my Chevy 3500, 6.6 Duramax, 3.73 diff gets 11 MPG turning 1700 RPM at 65 MPH. The Ford weighs about 1000 lbs more than the Chevy. Tires are the same size, trany gears are real close to the same, the HP and Tq are higher on Chevy. Here's the question - Could I change the gears in the diff to somewhere around 3.75 and get better mileage without making it a dog on the bottom end?
6.7 Ford = 300HP 660Tq - 8 MPG
6.6 Duramax = 397 HP 765 Tq - 11 MPG

I'd like to ask a few questions on powertrains for the new '15+ Ford Transit. Specifically about the EcoBoost engines and differences between these powertrains when installed in the Transit and F150. Can we get a thread for the Transit?
Seems pretty silly to me to have the SD's lag so far behind in what seems to be some pretty basic features.
Love Ford's but really wonder why they are so far (decades) behind on simple things like DRL's.
SD's seem to be very popular so why such a lag behind?
I've got a question for the software engineers...when are we going to be able to load our own pictures (wallpaper) to the Sync 3 system? Seems like a gap in the feature matrix since that's available on the previous generation.
Thx
