I have a 2000 f350 7.3 got a check engine light that turns off when rpms go up and a slow start. My mechanic said that there were no codes being blown any suggestions what is going on? thanks
yeah I had a feeling someone was going to say. any educated guesses? If not thanks for the quick response. he was able to pull the codes for the bad injectors and a few other things.
He can't read it with a basic car scanner, check your battery's might be time for new ones. My old ones fully charged only held 12.1 and threw a PCM memory loss code, after two new battery's it's a whole different start up. And make sure your terminals are clean
With those symptoms I would certainly check all connections and make sure they are clean and tight. Pay particular attention to the battery cables themselves. They can get corrosion in the weave of the wires, You might want to try cutting back a little of the insulation on the wires and see if there is any green chalkiness mixed in with the braid. If there is, you will want to replace them. But if they check out, I would have the batteries load tested as well as your alternator.
So it is a bad turbo!! FML! Any suggestions on were to get a new one? Should I upgrade or stay stock? I already put a bunch of money so I don't really want to break the bank
Ok so the slow start was from the EBP (p0476)that was replaced starts better now. But the check engine light was still on and the last code on the list was something to do with the turbo. I will get the code from him tomorrow.
