Diagnostics

Hi,

Just a little note about how GM is trying to help me with diagnostics. I don't know what FoMoCo is doing, but I have my fears that they similar intentions.

I have a 2015 Chebby Cruz(leased). I would have just as lief had a Focus, but there were reasons that I went with the Cruz. Anyway, it periodically emails me and tells me if my tires are underinflated. The dealership emails me to tell me that I should bring it in so that they can rotate the tires and 'inspect' the oil status.

OK -- the Cruz has a display for oil status -- right now it's at 80% remaining life. Gee, I don't think that I need an oil change quite yet -- and I figured that out all by myself.

Then I read that theyre planning some improved diagnostics that will connect via wi fi so they can help you even more. They will have sensors that measure your battery voltage -- especially during startup. I think that they'll also measure current and temperature. Then they will 'analyze' that with their ultra high powered computers and determine if you should bring it in for a new battery.

And, oh yeah, they're planning to put sensors in the brake pads so that they can tell me when I should bring it in for new pads. (Bet those pads are cheap!)

Now, the battery info is somewhat interesting, but how about if they would just send it to me. Even without their super secret algorithm, I think that I could figure out if it was showing issues in my starting or charging system.

Meanwhile, nobody seems willing to bring back the old oil pressure sensor that actually read the pressure -- not just good or bad. I actually had an oil pressure sensor go out on me a while back and it scared the cr*p out of me until I got it figured out. (this was a different vehicle).

How much nicer would it be to see some numbers so I could have seen if things were deteriorating over time. The way it was, it could have been sitting at 4 psi for months and the sensor would have been happy.

So I guess we're becoming too stupid to understand even the simplest automotive systems. Or maybe they need to make a bit more money on service.

hj

They want us to become stupid so we'll love our gubment and be aware they're always right,.....and trust them!

Your vehicle e-mails you??? WTF???? Big brother is watching, fer sure.

Don't ferget about that Lojack deal that can unlock your vehicle if you're out in East Cupcake and locked the keys in the trunk....or somewhere..they know where you are! Then there's that "little black box" the new ones all have to keep track of where we go, how fast, etc. - just like the commercial airlines.....

Then there's the chemtrails...filling the air we breathe with boron and aluminium and who knows what else type of particles....mercury and minkey snot in vaccines.....genetically modified corn, soy, etc...... They're tying to dumb us down so we'll buy (figuratively speaking) what the Gubment propagandists are selling on CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox news, etc.

What a great time to be alive and be in Tennessee!
