Heater issues

My wife tells me her 07 mountaineers fan stays on high no matter what speed she puts it in. Also the passenger side is blowing cold air. It has dual climate. What do I need to look for, could it be electrical?

The fan staying on high is probably due to the blower motor speed controller failing. The passenger side blowing cold air could be due to a blend door issue or a temperature sensor. The temp sensor would be an easy, inexpensive fix. A blend door issue could be quite a costly repair to do it right.

could be as simple as the sensor being dirty or air flow being blocked to it. I'm not familiar with the climate control on the Fords, our Hyundai had a spot on the dash where it sensed the temperature that I could see dust accumulating on occasion.

Anyone know where to look for the sensor or how to check the blend door?
