EATON TRUE LOCK plus E LOCKING BOTH INSTALLED at the same time ??

Wondering if its possible to install True lock limited slip differential in my 2016 f 350 6.7 the truck already has the electronic locking axle it works but shutting off after 20 mph. open rear end is useless in the snow. Now I understand how it works I own one for 6 years ,you don't want a constant locked axle going 60 mph , the true lock was incredible very smooth transitions in power to the wheel with grip ,best truck I ever drove don't care how bad the roads were truck always felt in control especially in 4 wheel drive.

So I guess I'll either have to just remove it and have the true locker to have limited slip ability would never go with limited slip clutch plates nothing but maintenance the other truck had 145,0000 miles not one problem of course I'll have to check out and see if the 6.7 is too much torque for this kind of rear end that could be a problem, I know they told me not to put the 35 inch tires on but I never had a problem either driving civilized . One other question is it possible to defeat the 20 mph or whatever it is disengagement? With a flash or some kind of program tuner thanks again

Auburn gear's e-locker is the only one I have been able to find that is limited slip when not engaged. Don't know if it is a direct replacement. Might be worth a look.

Ok all great advice I guess what I'm trying to ask does anyone have mechanical understanding of how the ford locker works, and if it's possible to install a true locker and allow the Ford locker to work too the best of both worlds does the elocker sit on the right or left of the gear housing or sit in the middle with a locking mechanism then you couldn't have both

I do not see a reason for BOTH.... and most likely NO.. can not..

otherwise a kit would already be available..

my understanding the e-locker came out in 2011... so 5 plus years

I would like to know WHY the "Full Locker" is for the 6.7 ONLY..?????
.
.might be a computer thing.

[QUOTE=Chuck's First Ford;15934844]I do not see a reason for BOTH.... and most likely NO.. can not..

Simply the reason for both is having the ability to have full lock which the true locker doesn't do and yet while you're going 50 miles an hour down the highway in a snowstorm you don't kick sideways when you go into a skid with both axles locked, if you ever want to try a truck with a true Locker borrow one from a friend if they have it, you won't believe the difference I've converted 8 people I would have just ordered a truck with an open end ,but this one was on the lot and I needed a replacement no big deal. It basically has to do with the way it transfers power on ice and snow very slowly because it's gear driven there's no sudden increase or torque jump check out the web page from Eaton and actually there was a way to make it lock up just apply a little bit of brake and gas and you could get both wheels to grab it was kind of funny but it work.

Just buy the spe lock kit, $50 bucks and ten minutes and your golden. Id never spend 1200 dollars to remove the factory locker when they sell a 50dollar switch

A locked axle at 60 MPH with poor traction could kill you. I think that's a terrible idea, as does the OP.
