Looking at buying a bronco in the next year because we're hoping to expand the family and can't fit more in my single cab f150.
The 78-79 is appealing for the solid axle over the 92-96 models I've been looking at. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to add 3 point seat belts in the back of them like what you'd have in the newer models?
Being that it would be for kids to ride in, I know my wife won't let it happen if there isn't a shoulder belt.
One solution would be to put in a roll cage and tie the seat belts into that.
Otherwise, I believe the 92 - 96 hard tops had extra reinforcement that allowed them to have shoulder belts. Just drilling and installing a shoulder belt into a pre-92 probably wouldn't have the strength.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was expecting. I'll just stick with the newer model and maybe I'll get lucky and find a solid axle for a good price to put under it.
