I'm an IDI newbie trying to solve an air intrusion problem. I began removing the injector caps and return lines this evening and discovered one that was a little different. The passenger side injector is closest to the fuel filter has a different cap on it than the others. It also seems trickier than the others to remove. It has a couple points for a wrench but as I turn it puts a lot of tension on the fuel line. I've read a few posts on return line replacement and seen a video but none of them mention this unusua injector cap. Any advice on its removal without damaging the fuel line? Thanks.
Two wrenches and it'll come apart. One on the injector line, one on the wrench marks below the plastic cap you have showing in the pic. If you only pull on the top it'll break the fuel line.
thats a timing pulse adapter.
supposedly it makes the engine easier to time.
either leave it, or get a van #1 line.
i went with 6.9 injector lines.
no adapter.
ive been told you cant just delete it, or the timing will be thrown off, as injection line length plays a part.
if you delete it #1 will be shorter.
