injector cap blowing fuel

I have a 1987 F250 with a 6.9 N/A Diesel. Yesterday i was driving and smelled fuel. I found the front injector was blowing fuel out of the cap next to the injector line. I didn't know what was wrong so i replaced the injector thinking the injector was blocked but with the new injector it still is blowing fuel between the line and the cap straite up. Any ideas?

Replace the cap....?
New caps, o-rings and hose all around would be a good idea.
The injector line may have cracked. So I'd take a close look at things to figure out where the problem actually is.

By blowing straight up do you mean around the fuel line through the hole in the fitting? If so I would start with the line. If it's coming out below the fitting then o rings would be my first guess. I'd say if you have to replace the o rings on one injector then do them all while you're at it. If not you might be doing it again 7 more times

If it's bubbling/dripping out, it's probably O-rings. Remember to use /lithium wheel bearing grease/ to install them, /not/ vasoline. Vasoline doesn't work.

If it's spraying(like there is pressure behind it), check the line. Make sure there isn't a crack somewhere.

Thanks for all the feedback. i replaced the line from the injector pump to the injector and she's not leaking. I took a magnifing glass and looked into the inside of the nut that held the line to the injector and there was a hairline crack.

Was the nut cracked or was the injection line cracked? If it was the line, cracked at the flange under the nut, that can happen due to vibration because your line clamps are not installed.

the nut itself was cracked where the flare was held in place at the top of the nut. It was hard to see, i had to get a magnifing glass to see the crack in the bright light. No, the line was fine, just the top of the nut.
