2011-2015 Grille question

For the 2011 thru 2015 grill, I am going to put a paintable outer grille shell on and I have seen the center upper and lower chrome center bar inserts painted. Can you get them in a paintable version or are they just painting over the chrome ones? A part number for the upper and lower would be really appreciated!!!

I really doubt that they are painting the chrome ones. You would have to prep it and rough it up to get the paint to adhere properly, and in doing that you would have the fear of it being uneven.

Most likely people are painting the black grills from the XL. They are cheaper and would be easier to paint.

Agreed. None of the local paint shops around me want to mess with the plastic chrome, but it is doable if prepping is done properly. For me and IMO the best option for black would be to line-x it. Would cost about $30-50 max. I plan to get mine done when I can afford the expense.

Thanks but I don't have a chrome grille now. I'm going to do a 2000 to a 2015 front end conversion and I'm collecting the parts one piece at a time now and if they had the paintable ones, I could buy them. As soon as the weather breakes in the spring I'm going to start my build.
