Just purchased a 97 Powerstroke with a decent body for only $300. Needs a new starter and some fuel lines. No, I wasn't able to start the engine- but it did turn over. Has the Dana 60 in the front also.
After getting my other projects done I was finally able to start working on my 1997 truck. This truck has been sitting in a field in Perkins, MI for nearly ten years and has less rust than my 99 and 06 SD's. Bear in mind the box was replaced by the previous owner due to rust and the doors were swapped out because of some bizarre accident. Regardless it's in decent shape for where I live here in the rust belt.
After repairing the rusted fuel lines and burned glowplug harness connectors the truck ran fine. Until I noticed oil spraying out from the filter housing.
Yup. It's a project all right.
I'll throw some pics up and a YouTube address later this week.
yes, it's the rear oil cooler housing. aka oil filter housing. It's getting pulled off tomorrow night. I'll throw pics up too. If u guys have one laying around let me know.
