2001 ranger air bag code 46

My 2001 ranger is flashing Airbag code 46, dealer wants $90.00 just to diagnose it. Any one know what this code is? Thanks, John B.

Hey John, I think that flash code is for the drivers pretensiner circuit. Its very common for the wire to break at the connector under the seat. If not drivers check passenger. There is a TSB 03-06-09 it only list the actuall DTC tho and not the flash code, I work at a ford dealer and this is becomingvery common the repair is actually to remove the seat and reroute the wiring harness for the pretensioner and resolder the wires at the connector. I would suggest taking it to the dealer for repair but this info may help if you decide not to.
