Well I got a big surprise when I went to the local swap meet and found a NOS XLS dash plaque in the ford bag. Too bad it didn't have the 2 aluminum bezels with it.
Dream bullnose is a blue 82 XLS Bronco fully loaded!
Here is my dream bullnose... one of 47 factory diesel Broncos ordered from Ford in 1983. Sadly I don't have the cash or plane tickets to Washington to go get it... (This would be particularly sweet if it also had XLS trim)

Is It looks like it is a XLS.
Picture of the radio / HVAC what is to the right of the HVAC.......is that a duel tank switch?
Did not know they made diesel Broncos. I bought new a 86 K5 Diesel Blazer, just loved that truck.

I jumped the gun on this one with wishful thinking. Almost surely a hoax. I could only open the first couple of pictures on my phone at work, and after seeing the rest his credibility is gone. The diesel dash bezel is 85/86 burl wood grain. The instrument cluster has a tach which was not even an available option in 83/84. The timing gear cover does not have the port for a tach sensor so it cannot be working anyway. If it was legit the seller would have proved it with a picture of the VIN with an 8th digit of "1" if it was a 6.9 diesel from the factory. This looks to me like a swap and a tall story. It is a very easy swap to do, but not legal if you live in an area with emissions testing. I really wish Ford HAD offered a diesel bullnose Bronco.
Edit: to answer your HVAC control question, Broncos have a rear window up/down switch in that location instead of a tank selector. All Broncos have a single tank.

I for got about the rear window.
But you did give me a thought of finding a HVAC panel with A/C & fuel switch if I did not care if it said up/down I could get one for my P/U.
As for the diesel and not knowing these trucks so good I did think it was a swap and a tall story.

This is the reply I got back when I asked for the VIN and certification label:
Thanks but Think I'm going to keep it. 4x4 Magazine called this morning about doing a story on it
Uh huh... yeah, sure... well, maybe so, but they'd first do some really simple investigation of it... my feelings are, this thing is bogus and this guy's a con artist...
