Positive Ground Strap:

Exactly what does the positive ground strap mount to on a 1952 F-1 with flathead 239?Carpenters has a strap listed that is only 9.5 inches log.That don't seem like that would be long enough to use????

That depends; do you want it Dearborn correct, or the right way? The stock setup was to ground to the firewall, from there to the block. Makes no sense, but the point on the firewall is about 9.5 inches from a stock old battery. Some older threads on it:

My advice would be to measure how long a cable you need to get to a bolt on the bellhousing, and buy one at NAPA.

The Parts Catalog shows 14301 as the number for the straps but several different lengths for them. None of them are only 9.5" long.
