Alright, we have an '89 F150, it was a farm truck and had sat for some time. We've just finished putting a new intake manifold and gasket, deleting all admissions, valve cover gasket on. Now, like I said before, it's sat for some time. Our problem now is it runs, but the oil pan is fillIng with water instantly and then it stalls. We know that more than likely it's the head gaskets but, since admitting thats the problem and putting in new heads (which as I'm sure you all know is an incredible pain in the a$$) we were wandering if anyone else has dealt with a similar problem, and if so, what that might be?
You didn't mention which engine you're working on?
What was the original reason for changing the lower intake gasket? you where talking lower correct?
If V8 and its running into the oil pan at that rate and yet not blowing any coolant out the tail pipe? It's possible its the intake gasket leaking coolant into the lifter valley and down into the pan, you ended up with the gasket folded over itself one corner perhaps?
