I found this while cleaning the shop yesterday. I believe it is for a '51-'52 ford truck. If that is the case, I would have bought it for my '51 F2 in '76 or '77. I haven't checked it out on an engine but, it does work with a hand vacuum pump.
Am I correct on what it fits and does it have any value?
Thanks, Mark
Ross, No, there is very little to no vacuum on a diesel. The engine does have a vacuum pump for the power brakes and accessories on the donor car. I was going to save this motor to use to rebuild my '49 motor if I decide to go back to vacuum but, it is a lot larger than the '48-'50 motor. Would you have an idea what it might be worth and I will put it in the classifieds.
Thanks, Mark
Joe, Thanks for the scan of the parts book. I assumed that since it had a 1C prefix that it was for a '51 commercial but, I have been wrong before. I have been learning that with Ford trucks to never assume anything .
Thanks again, Mark
I'd say at least a hundred bucks; I don't know of anyone repro'ing them, and a repro for later models is $130 at MACs. Add to that the relative rarity of the 51-52's, subtract the reduced demand from people going modern electric... JMO.
