More vacuum wiper options?
Has anyone thought of using some sort of 12 volt vacuum or vacuum pump to run the stock wiper motor? Manifold vacume is maybe about -20 or -25 psi ? I don't know what the CFMs would be. A 12 volt car vacuum may even work. My 337 flathead has the combination vacuum/ fuel pump. A vacuum line runs off the manifold to the vacuum side of the pump and to the wipers. Unfortunatly, I am missing the drive rod for the pump. So, as of now, I am stuck with strait manifold vacuum.

It's been suggested before (I did once for sure, I think others before me). Manifold vacuum is much more than a vacuum cleaner can produce, but many cars came with electric vacuum pumps over the years (mostly high-end Caddies and such). Thing is, have you ever had to clear snow off a windshield with vacuum wipers? They aren't real powerful even at idle, and the speed is all over the place. Electric is so-o-o much better!
I'd bet Job Lot would have that pushrod for your 337, have you checked them?

I called Job Lot for the pushrod - no luck.

Somewhere in the small archives of my memory (way before FTE) a custom magazine had something about a VW elect wiper motor working in a 53. Not sure if it could be adapted to your situation...
