Is there a part number printed on the box? It appears to be some kind of insulator. The engineering number on the part is odd.

Nothing legible on the box, just teh number on the item. If it was on the box, it faded away.

Thanks, Charlie. An absorber... does it go between the body and the chassis?

The references I found indicate that it is a body to chassis isolator. This was just web-crawling info, no first hand T-bird experience but it seems that that part number was used across different years/models. From the looks of the isolator itself it appears that one side is a key or locator tab and the other fits around the body mount bolt itself. Kinda surprised that Bill hasn't chimed in yet.

I think it's the isolator for the weight dangling from the pinion nose. Could be wrong, I remember seeing them. I had a '69 T-bird for seven years but after all of this time I'm not absolutely certain.
