To quote Mickey Mantle, I would have taken better care of myself if I knew I would live this long.
As long as they keep making Tylenol, I will continue to work until everything quits working.
I like "suck-it-up". When you ache or hurt and just suck it up and go on
It took me about 5 years to accept that me working for a living was over. Now I like not having to worry about: making it to work on time ( or in my case just making it to work), boss, deadlines, driving to and from work and all the other other crap that goes with a job.

I can tell you this, Most of the younger generation has no work ethic, or even pride in their work. Jobs that I did for the company by myself now requires two guys because they tell the manager that they can't lift a 80 lb garage door top section into place. Refuse to go to their second appointment because they don't want to work past 5 o'clock. Sorry, rant over.

Most would never consider a 24 or 30 hour work day. I did more than one of those. Those of us in the old farts club earned the right to rant about today's work ethic.
What gets me is how jobs with computers are pushed on the kids and the trade jobs are pushed out the door and off the curriculum. Not everyone is suited for that type job. Plus with no trades who is going to fix and build stuff
I got off early so I am back home safe and the snow has just started coming down pretty good.
Jacob: Glad to hear the doc cleared you for work.
I was so excited. Felt great.

Yes, But i always had to clean it and make sure he didnt think I was working when I saw him. I told my boss the first time I saw him to please not send me home.
Glad to hear that. Everything in the clear?

Hope the roads are clear enough to go to the shop to work on the bed tomorrow.

The suck it up has always worked. I hate the doc, I hate meds. its a false pretense. Although i am eating a little bit better now. I come from a long line of farmers and alcoholics who lived to be in the 80s and up, along with one person having 3 strokes and still moving his *** to make **** work.

Yes you are true. I come from that generation. I went first hand with those who didnt care. I was a 19 year old alcoholic, went through to about 22 when I finally got some help and leveled it out. Graduated from college with 2 degrees and a minor. By the time I was 22 I had owned 2 businesses, helped put food on the table for my family, and worked at 7 different jobs. No Im 23, head mechanic (master), and a great body technician that has been offered 4 jobs in 5 months (even though Im working for a shop I love) and have gotten my name ran through 7 different shops in 5 months.
My generation is a bunch of lazy F**ks who think everything is to be handed to them. My generation also hates blue collar, so they dont think that I am as "successful" as they are even though I do what I love, and enjoy it everyday while they continue to complain about the money and so called s/*t they have to go through. RIGHT
But its funny, when their **** breaks down, they ask me for help. I upcharge, and do the work. Blue collar is not stupid, and I know the language to play them like a banjo.
I also have body and mechanic jobs, apppointments made for next year. Already taking enough customers to start a great life. Hard work is what got me here, and hard work will make sure my family never has a worry.

That is such a true statement and exactly what got me to where I am today. I started out working 30 something years years ago making $3.35 an hour. Now I make over 10 times that much, I have no complaints on where I am today.
The thing that made me laugh the most is when McDonald's workers were on TV and striking for 10 bucks an hour. ARE you kidding me???

Sad part is they are getting it in some states. Years ago we were going thru some stuff and found an old earning statement less than a $1000 a month.

As soon as they start getting paid $15+/hour I'll replace them with a machine that will always be there and doesn't eat my profits.
Some chains are already eliminating positions and replacing people with a tablet for ordering. Self-service baby, gotta love technology.
What alot of people fail to realize as well, is if you raise the minimum wage floor, the cost of living goes up, thus we have inflation, and everyone who was making $7 an hour, will be doing the same struggle on $15
Theyve also already started replacing those people with machines. Those corporations arent going to raise the wage of someone who flips burgers, sells drugs, and has an IQ of 5.
