Hard cold starting - solution and thanks!!
Not sure if this so the right place? I have 2001 F250 7.3l 290k miles.
Just want to say how great this forum is! Truck is second hand to me and having replaced glow plugs, GPR and started to get concerned I had a compression or injector issue because I had hard cold starts without the heater plugged in and then the engine romped, I followed some threads on here and did an oil change yesterday. I put Shell Rotella 5w 40 in and a new motorcraft filter. Started truck this morning in 40f and she went first time!! Not saying the injectors probably don't need looking at too but thank christ for an inexpensive solution this far. Also soooooo much quieter with the new lube.
