2012 Elocker into a 2005?

2012 Elocker into a 2005?
So my dad bought a wrecked 2012 F250 and the rebuilder replaced the rear axle. We are not sure yet why but it may of been because of a bent housing....anyway the removed axle has the OEM elocker in it. If it is still good my dad told me I could have it. My question is will the 2012 elocker fit into my 2005 F250? If so can I just wire the locker to a switch?

I'm pretty sure this can be done, but it may be more trouble than it's worth. If the housing is bent you'll have to take the guts out of the differential and install it in your axle. Lots of setup involved with this, and it's generally not recommended for DIY-ers to try themselves as picky as gears can be. You'll also have to drill your housing to run the harness.
