Hi. Not near my truck at the time and wondering if anybody knows off to of there head if I can install one of these switches. I don't know where the 2 positive battery cables meet. Thanks
Really?? Follow the large red wire off the drivers side battery. It crosses over and joins the passenger battery at the + terminal. Your switch goes after the passenger + were it goes to the engine. Your choice were. Keep in mind killing power there will cause loss of all data everywhere on the truck including your radio presets. There are several better places to put it were you don't lose data but get the same security results.
Putting a Perko on the whole thing is not the same as doing it on a gasser boat. With all the Perkos I've used before with a two-battery configuration, it was a 1,2, both, or off switch to deal with the engine battery and the house battery. This is two engine batteries. Our glow plugs take a whole lotta juice - that's why we have the two batteries. Glow plug and starter power would have to pass through the switch if configured to be all-on/off. Many of the Perkos I've seen are rated at 100 amps. Our trucks eat 100 amps for a light snack when the temperature is low.
