Power steering
Power steering
Probably a dumb question but should the pulley on the power steering pump have any play in it. Been trying to chase down a squealing pulley and have just replaced both idlers and pulleys on the tensioner. Still have a little bit of a squeak in there and I noticed before I put the belt on that the power steering had some movement in and out only.
Any one have experience with whether they had the power steering, water pump, or AC pulleys squeal/chirp before failing? Its hard to locate these noises in these trucks. At least I know my other pulleys are good now. One of the tensioner pulleys was probably bad as I have a lot less squeaking now.

I just replaced a PS pump on my EX. The pulley moved in and out about an 1/8. The new one moved just a touch.
I had a chirp/squeal for the last 1yr or so. The new pump took that away!
A gator back belt will also fix a compulsive squeaker. It's the only one we use. This is,, as long as you don't have a pulley issue. Ps pump pulleys will have a lil play in n out. Never measured it tho.
