Fuel pump problem

Fuel pump problem

Just changed the fuel pumps on a 89 ford bronco EFI 5 speed manual 302 and now they won't work when it's cold but they will work when it is in the shop can't figure out the problem.

When I put a new tank in my rig it ran for a few days then quit. Then a couple days later it ran for a day or so and quit. After many hours of troubleshooting, it ended up being a bad connection on the plug to the pump. It was a little corroded but packed with dried up grease. I cleaned up the connectors and it's been fine for a couple years now. It may not be your issue but it may be worth checking??

When I bought my '89 F150 a couple years ago, the connections at the fuel pump relay on the driver's fender where corroded causing the pumps to shut off.

Michael: You could start on page 3 here or read the entire thread. But bottom line is don't use dielectric grease. Do use contact cleaner. Then do use contact enhancer:
