Hey guy's, I used the 30 minute ignition diagnostic steps and my TFI checked bad. I was thinking of using this remote mount TFI from McCully Racing. Has anyone else ever used it? Is it a good idea? thanks
Where do you live? If you're not in the south you don't really need a remote TFI, what you do need is an authentic Ford TFI module as all the aftermarket modules have a crazy high failure rate. I have not used that kit but it would give you some insurance against overheating modules in the future.. if that is what caused your current failure and not just a crappy aftermarket module.
) funny you should ask, I live in the arm pit of the south! Columbia S.C.! we regular have weeks over triple digits ))
But, it's only a around the neighbor hood truck and pull the boat to the river. But still I'd like to fix it once a for all. Is Ford Motor Craft the Best? What does anyone recommend? thanks
I've thought about using a 94 truck harness for a donor for a relocated TFI module on my 92 GT as I get more familiar with the wiring harnesses of this gen EFI.
This year we set records for most days 95* & above. We had 90s into November and so far it hasn't let me down. Knock wood. Interesting kit though. looks as if it serves a need. (84* today )
Use a Motorcraft module for sure. Anything else was made by reverse engineering & not with the co-operation of Ford so it sucks as a matter of course.
