I know it's frustrating having your brand new truck run like a POS..
maybe instead of being upset with Ford, You should be angry with the EPA for forcing Ford to install this troublesome emissions crap?..most of the problems with these engines have been emissions system related..
Hey Rodney, I bet you're one of those guys that get in the boat that always catches fish while everyone else is getting skunked.
Seriously, search jack hammering here and you can read a lot of debate radium. Might be your issue? I haven't had any problems so I'm just trying to help ya find more info.
Ford has to wait on the EPA to approve the update before its released....Im sure they dont want in the same boat as Volkswagen.
This is a well known issue for these trucks. Some guys claim that the valve guide to valve stem clearance is too tight and that the higher temperatures of the regen makes the valves stick in the guide due to the too tight tolerance. From my reading, some trucks has been fixed already with a head swap that the valve guide clearance has been checked to be ok on. Also, some has been fixed from doing the deletes and getting rid of the regen all together. Some are skeptical that the update will fix the issues....being mechanical.
Again, just what I've read. Guess we'll know soon maybe.

Not in the least Joel. I just know pounding my fist and playing armchair lawyer on the internet does absolutely nothing but make me look like a fool so I refrain. I've done it in the past and later looked at my posts and shaken my head at myself. I also do my research before buying something. So, if I happened to be one of the unfortunate ones that got a truck that had the regen issue, I certainly wouldn't be surprised. Upset, sure but not surprised. I would also know in advance what the solution was and when it was coming and be prepared to wait for it if I went forward with the purchase of a vehicle that very well may have the issue. It's called being an educated buyer. Lastly, this issue affects a tiny fraction of buyers so by being positive on the whole thing I'm in the majority of guys in catching fish as are you my friend.

I have to side with Rodney here!
Luck of the draw! When I look at the whole spectrum of diesel powered trucks, I see GM, Dodge, And Ford having issues with the emissions crap! When I see low mileage late model vehicles being traded, i just kind of wonder what the real reason is! Yup, I bought a 2015 KR, DRW, 6.7 L. Starting from the second day of ownership, there was something they couldnt quite pnpoint. Finall, after a year, and 5 times to a shop, Ford said it was the high pressure fuel system, which they warrantied............BUT, after this many times, was that really the issue or not?
Did replacing the fuel system fix it? I do not know, because I traded it for a 2016 KR, DRW, 6.7L! And this one has been flawless.
Before I retired, working for an oilfield trucking company with approximately 500 trucks on the road, we had a factory mechanic working in our shop for a year and a half just doing warranty work on the emissions crap. Cat, Cummins, Paccar, and Detroit engines....pretty much evenly distributed among them. One unit might be nothng but problems, and the next one would have no issues. The ones with a lot of problems would eventually be sold, and replaced.
Now, with all that being said, I see a lot of these 6.7L engines with no problems on the road! So, over all, I have confidence that they will be trouble free for a lot of miles!
If a person must lemon law a vehicle because of problems, that is exactly why the lemon laws are in place! And I would rather see them do that, just lemon it and go on their way. That way, the Manufacturer will know exactly what and how many they are dealing with!
Best of luck to you!

Oh my god you guys feel better, what the the heck are you guys talking about how can you justify a company selling $50,000 + truck with known issues that would be like me as a contractor saying I'm going to put your floor in but there might be a problem down the road don't call me we are getting around to fixing it I'd be out of business . I simply want to hear from somebody with the same issue before I start my battle with Ford. You're never going to justify somebody selling any vehicle and don't blame the EPA if they're having problems don't release the truck or at least have the courtesy to tell me it's going to f### up after you buy this truck good Lord I'm sorry I ask for opinions and I don't need to flex any legal muscle if I can't get rid of it a trade off for something else for the love of God anyone else with a problem send me a private message we need to get other people involved to get this straightened out
Oh and by the way I don't drive my truck to drive a boat to the lake I make a living with it I'm trying to save the next poor guy out there form making the same mistake until Ford comes clean with their problem. Monday I cannot get to Utica because my truck can not tow trailer right now with the way its acting
You said it's a simple legal process in NY to get Ford to buy it back. Start the simple process...
Too bad your brother's friend didn't warn you about this issue before you spent so much money. If I had a brother with a friend with 35 years diesel experience, I would have asked him his opinion on the current 6.7's before dropping so much coin. Or at least checked the forums...

Radium, It's a quality control issue. Google any thread with Maryland dieselnick or Nick in Maryland. You will have full explanations and ford tech notes.
Get with Wharrell is in a whole loop of you guys.
I feel for your situation and its is not safe from the extreme power loss, it's polluting. There are agencies to help you but try to get it fixed the right way by getting the springs pulled on the new head to verify proper stem to guide clearances and you will be ok but if NY has a thing where you can get a different truck, do that.
Start a file now with event dates, emails, ect.
Good luck to you. I'm sorry this is happening, being handled like this and feel for some reactions to realistic expectations.
Side note: guy from Fowler Ford ( Scott Pratt.) has replied on to me one TDS he has had a new demo with a 9 th injector.
