I'm looking for pictures of how you guys mounted your license plates on stepside trucks. I see how it's supposed to be, but the rear bumper blocks the license plate from view, so that doesn't seem right.
I say if it is in the stock position it is legit and legal. Here is a pic of my 54 F-100 truck without the bumper like I had it from 1977-1999. I added a bumper after the truck was painted in 1999. And there is a pick with the bumper. I have never been pulled over by an officer of teh law for an obstructed plate.
Best check with your State LEOs.
In NY, you could get a ticket/fine if the LP is obstructed. One cop might let it go, another might have a "quota to meet"

It's not a quota. It's a "documented contact".
Btw, here is the factory license plate location and bracket (with light) on non-opted rear bumper styleside. I can't say "bumper delete" because rear bumpers were optional back in the day.
I've known two people who have been warned about having a trailer hitch ***** being centered on the bumper in front of there vehicles Lic. plate.
The Police say he could write them up a fix it ticket but just let them out with a warning. One person told me just last month he was warned by a cop. The other person first told me more then 20 yrs. ago. And both were from city cops.
