Look here, click on Wiring Diagrams, and scroll down to "The following schematic is for a 6V, positive ground truck with a flathead engine." That's for a 53 which should be nearly identical.

Since the stock wiring did not have flashers, a different diagram is needed. I suggest googling 'signal stat 900'. This will show a number of diagrams and instructions, pick the one that best matches the configuration you are installing - wire count, color scheme. Keep in mind that older units with three or four wire leads may limit your options for lights and function.

I used Microsoft Visio.
If you or anyone else would like I would be glad to send the Visio file. (it also has a few other more simple diagrams) Just PM me you email address. Of course you have to have a copy of Visio to edit it.
