Fuel gauge rises slowly after fill

Fuel gauge rises slowly after fill
I have a 2007 F150 XLT with 150K Km. Recently the fuel gauge rises slowly ( 2 start up or 40 minutes of driving ) to the full mark after fill up. The truck is always fueled with Cheveron "regular" gas. What could be the problems ... float, sensor, fuel gauge? and how to check them?
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks,
Peter

The "problem" is that the cluster is still in the default "anti-slosh" mode which can take up to 55 minutes of accumulated operating time to go fully from E to F.
One of the possible causes is sulfur contamination of the in-tank sensor that causes it to read intermittently. If the cluster doesn't receive a valid fuel sender reading within 1 second of powering on, perhaps due to an intermittent sender or sender circuit, it defaults to the anti-slosh even if there was a fill-up event immediately prior.
The only thing Techron, which is available in the US at many auto parts stores, can do is to help clean the sender in case it's contaminated. If the sender wasn't contaminated in the first place, the use of Techron will have no effect on the issue.

I disagree with the anti slosh theory. I had the exact same symptoms and without a doubt it solved my problems. I purchased from either Walmart or an Auto Parts store. I believe his problem is the same as mine but that's just my opinion. I am not saying that the anti slosh information is incorrect though. I just believe it is contamination on the sensor as he noted.

Is that clear enough?

hummm nuthin new for OneFumbDuck but now I really dont get it.
[QUOTE=projectSHO89;15885872]You cannot disagree with that since that's how the system is designed to operate. If there is no valid sensor read within the first second of power , then that's the mode the cluster stays in, REGARDLESS OF THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OF THE 'NO-READ'. PERIOD.
Is that clear enough?
