Hello, I am new to the Forum and hope those with Cleveland knowledge are willing to share some information. I am doing a frame swap on my 1954 F-100 due to frame issues and putting it on a s-10 frame. I have a 351 Cleveland and I was interested in putting a oil pan on that is more like a Chevy being deeper in the rear to help with motor placement. Has anyone done this? I've seen 302 oil pump relocation kit but not sure they would work on a Cleveland?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Try starting with a 351M rear sump pan from a 4x4 truck. 351C/M/400 oil pans all interchange. The 4x4 pan may still need some mods to fit your chevy frame.
73XAFalcon is right, the 351M/400 pans would be a good starting point. Here's a pic of the pan for Dad's truck (see sig), and the rear of the pan is on the left:
The problem with using any aftermarket deep sump rear pickup pan for an auto trans is they butt right up against the bell making it next to impossible to get at the t. c. studs. Trying to line them up and getting to them through the starter hole just doesn't work out worth a crap.
