This is what I got from the emissions in Colorado but the guy didn't miss how to explain so I searched it up and found out what it means but I don't know how to reduce it. Any help?
I don't know much about emissions, but a few months ago several FTE'ers talked a guy through getting his truck to pass in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14596543. New gas appears to have been a big part of that, so has yours been sitting around? Have you checked the ignition timing? And adjusted the idle mixture screws? Make sure you err on the lean side on them.
A '77 and still need emissions testing in Colorado?
Yeupp...a new gas cap is in order...do you have the vented or non vented style?
Your hydrocarbons (parts per million)- HC ppm is at least twice as high as it should/could be. Means you're not burning all the fuel completely. Retune carb, check float level and power valve. You have a vacuum gauge? Now's the time to use it....and as Gary said, lean it out a bit. New plugs wouldn't hurt.
The other emissions that failed is the carbon monoxide level, again over twice the allowed.....check your timing, maybe advance it a bit...., check your evap, and egr (if you have it) system.....no cats back in '77, a good thing.
