How much should I Pay?

This truck has been sitting for a while. Don't know how long. I'm not sure what year it is either but clearly an 87 to 91 if I'm not mistaken. It doesn't run and don't know if it will. Mileage is unknown and it has rust. I also don't know what motor it has. Its got a lift kit if that's a plus. I'd be after the standard transmission for all the stuff needed to swap out the automatic in my truck. I still need to ring the doorbell but before I did, what is this thing worth and most importantly will the parts work in my early 97

Clutch pedal assembly is different 92^. If this is for the truck in your signature, then the tranny will not work. The bellhousing pattern is different from your powerstroke, no matter if it is sb, bb, or idi. You could use the front driveshaft, but the rear would be to short.

Thanks! That sounds like the info I'm after. I'll let it keep growing roots. If anyone feels like rescuing it its on Cape Cod.

Maybe the other stuff. I'm not sure the paint job is something you'd like in person. A lot gets lost in a photo. It is a fantastic parts truck!

Not sure what the truck is other than a 87-91 Cant tell if it is a F150 or f350 from the pics.

Like said above the pedals will do you no good.

Unless the truck is a diesel(which I doubt with the 4x4 emblem on the front stone shield), the trans will do you no good

And you would still need a 5 speed computer for your powerstroke

So overall, it doesnt appear to be ANY good for you

Brad, I thought the idi had a different bellhousing pattern than the powerstroke, I've heard of people making them work by redrilling them, but figured that was a huge headache.

No, IDI and PSD have the same bolt pattern. People have reworked the 460 trans to work on a diesel though for the MUCH better 1st and reverse. The early diesel zf5(s42) has the worst 1st and reverse imaginable if you actually use your truck

If that is native to the Cape, then its almost certainly very rusty.

Bed side looks severely butchered/ patched up.

Sorry for not mentioning it's a f250. It is a 250. I was hoping it would be a good parts truck to get rid of the automatic in mine. It is rusty and has blisters all over it up close & certainly not something that I would want to restore or drive.
So I guess the question is do I need a parts truck to do this conversion? It seems there would be too many parts to collect on a single part baisis. What is the transmission to be looking for that has the strong first and reverse & in what year truck is it in?

Couple things. first that 4x4 on the front trim panel is not the stock piece. you need to find out what engine this truck has for sure.
second, if you look close at the first pic, theres space where a ttb bracket should be, telling me its a d60 up there. 87-91 reg cabs never got a ttb d50.
and i was definitely joking about that paint, wayyy to loud for me lol.

Honestly no a whole parts truck is not needed, but would be much simpler. others can chime up but what you need to swap to manual is:
-trans
-clutch master/slave/line
-clutch
-front/rear driveshafts
-pedal assembly
-and according to brad psd man trans computer

So not a long list, but alot of parts to hope for individually at a junkyard

You say I need to drive shaft front and rear does that mean I get to lose the center bearing? I'm hoping that's what the thing is its vibrating the truck to pieces under load

No, you would still have the center bearing, but depending on trans driveshafts were different lengths
