OT how to post pics

I am sorry to do this again but I am having problems posting photos. I have done it in the past several different ways which are not working now. Can't find my posting notes and didn't find anything recent by searching. People are not able to help me 'caus I can't provide a visual. Sooooo, if one of you computer experts could provide a tutorial, both FTE member and non-member, photo posting I will print it, laminate it, and tape it to my computer for eternity. Also, if you choose to respond to a post using "quick reply" there is no paperclip. Is there a way to post pics without incorporating a previous members comment and/or photos. Lastly, why is a photo that was taken vertically and shows up on my computer vertically post to this forum sideways? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

It's the same for everybody now, member or not

..Also, if you choose to respond to a post using "quick reply" there is no paperclip.
The paperclip is the wrong tool, you want to clip on the "mountain".

From that dialog click on the "Browse your device" and navigate to the pictures on your computer you want to include. Then click "Insert" in the upper right hand corner. You're done!

Using the method just described, you can start a new thread, reply to an existing one with quoting, etc.

Lastly, why is a photo that was taken vertically and shows up on my computer vertically post to this forum sideways? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Not sure what program you're using to view pics on your computer, but some auto-rotate them.

That's the way I've done it in the past. Is the photo supposed to show up in the message box so you can see that it has successfully transferred? Mine used to and don't now.

Hi Filthy,
I've gone the FTE member route for picture posting. I just click the paperclip & browse my hard drive to find pics then hit the upload button.
You can then click preview post to see that your picture attached correctly.
It's pretty straight forward.

Maybe this will help.

Here is how to post pic's on FTE

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ure-guide.html

Here is one way by "Axracer"

Do you have digital pix of your truck from digital camera or phone on your computer?
If so it is easy to add them to a post (assuming the file is not too large). Find the
pic on your computer and leave it open while you come here in another window. Compose
a post, click where you want the pic to appear in the post. Click on the picture icon
at the top of the posting box (looks like a postcard with mountains and sun) A dialog
box will open asking if you want to drag a pic onto the box or browse your computer to
find it. If you have the pic open, go there, right click anywhere on the pic and chose
copy from the menu. Come back to your post and right click on the box. Select paste from
the menu. Your picture should appear (it may take a few seconds to load) in the box. Now
left click on the insert button.
If the stars all aligned your picture should now be in your post window. Select post to
have it appear on the forum or repeat to add more pix. Some cameras make huge files these
days that are larger than the forum limits. You may need to resize or resample the picture
and save the smaller file version with whatever picture editing software came with your
picture taking device before you can post it.

If you are a supporter than just right click on an image from anywhere like Facebook
or whatever. Than left click in your post and paste it in. So simple even a monkey
could do it.

Oh! and welcome to FTE and the old truck madness.

It seems everyone has different ways. I post via phone. I just hit the normal "post reply" button (just below the most recent post, left side). Then click the yellow mountian icon (image icon). When I click that I it takes me automatically to this screen:

Then I click the "from device" icon. That leads me to my "gallery" on my phone. I click on the picture I want to post (smiley face) and it loads to image and goes to this screen.

Then I click the "insert image" icon and it attaches to my post like the pic like below.

It worked like this before I paid to be a member also. I'm guessing the difference is the computer system you are using. Try using a cell phone. It couldn't be easier.

I am still unable to upload photos with the mountain icon. I can upload the photo but when I press the insert button it disappears. I have to send them to photobucket and copy paste them. Copy paste is the only way I can use the smilies also.

What system are you using? Desktop, browser, etc? What kind of picture were you trying to upload, and was it a big filesize? JPG's < 300kb load in a snap and are plenty big enough for the forum.

It never hurts to go in and clean out your cookies, BUT it will require that you know all your passwords for all your sites, as next time you open the browser, you'll have to log in.

There's always the possibility you have some malware that is interfering too. Scanning with Windows Defender or similar will let you know. I also run Super AntiSpyware once a day, it typically finds >200 tracking cookies and gets rid of them.
