Problem viewing photos

Happy new year. I am repeatedly unable to view photos that have been posted. The message says "Please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting." Do I need to update a photobucket account, or my Ford-Trucks account? Thanks. Kirt

I just put pics in my computer, and hit the manage attachments button.

If you are using Photobucket, then yes, you need to update the account and their format has changed. 3rd party hosting means that when you post a photbucket pic, your whole album is available for the public to see. Being a paid member is expensive. I found it cheaper and easier to subscribe here and pull up the pics from my computer.

If I understand your question correctly, you are having trouble viewing photos in other people's posts. The message that you see instead of the expected image is directed towards the original poster (OP). Photobucket changed its terms of service and now expects payment in return for hosting images for display on sites other than the Photobucket site where they get paid for advertisements viewed alongside the requested images. In short, the poster, not you the viewer, has to pay Photobucket to make these images world viewable or the OP has make some other hosting arrangement.
Someone here reported a hack to get around what Photobucket was doing but I think that Photobucket managed to eventualy defeat that. They are pretty intent about getting paid for hosting.
The impact on this and other sites where people started out with their free hosting only to have the rug pulled out from under them is rather devastating. Many of the really excellent how-to posts are essentially unintelligible without the Photobucket images. They wiped out a ton of knowledge - all in the name of filthy lucre.
Whether the OPs find the motivation, ways and means to update their posts is anyone's guess. Many may be unaware of what has happened. It is unfortunate and unfair that the burden is on them. Personally, I will have nothing further to do with Photobucket from now on because of this. I won't even visit the Photobucket site. They won't get any clicks from me.
