I am a first-time poster, tapping out to a fuel issue! I was driving down the road, truck wasn't getting enough gas sputtered badly then died. Got it towed home (thanks roadside assistance!). Replaced the in-line fuel pump and fuel filter.
I still cannot get any pressure to the fuel rail. I disconnected the hose from the in-line pump to the reservoir, put it into a gas can, and the in-line pump pressure rises rail perfectly. So I know it has to be upstream of the reservoir. I can hear both the front and the rear tanks pumps running when I turn the key on. However, when I disconnect the front and rear fuel lines from the reservoir, neither one in pumps fuel out of the lines.
it has me really confused! Is it possible that both my front and rear in tank pumps went out at the exact same time? To where they would be able to run, but supply zero fuel? What else could it be?
I have checked voltage to the front in tank Pump and it is a perfect 12 V.
I agree you're right. Need to get tanks down to better isolate. My biggest hangup is how do both screens get clogged in both tanks at the same time when neither had any issues two days ago?!? Did I just find Bigfoot?
Could it be a priming issue? My understanding is that should not be a thing but…

Switch seems to work fine. Verified front gets 12v when switch is on that tank. Can hear both front and rear pumps running according to switch selection... And I have efi so have the mechanical reservoir instead of electric tank selector valve.

Just like mine.
I did run into a problem once of having an in-tank pump that was failing and it pumped just enough fuel to open one poppet in the selector/resivoir but not the other. It was pumping fuel around in a circle but not to the frame pump. That selector canister may have a filter in it. Some say "Non-serviceable. Do not remove" but they lie! When you remove the bowl, be extremely careful with the o-ring. You cannot buy a new one, it IS a non serviced part! If there is a filter in it, just take it out and throw it away.
I tried to open it with a filter wrench but it is TIGHT! Didn't want to break plastic. How did you get yours off?
Also I can pull the tank side lines from the canister and still the fur pumps don't spit any due out.
The canister does unscrew, but if it is that tight just leave it till the last resort.
Not even a drop? From either tank? And they are running, right? Not saying it can't happen, but for both to die at the same time is not very common!
