I bought 2 brand new ones as Rich mentioned and was dumb founded at how bad it was. Brand new international gasket too. We had to put the old one back on which clipped in nicely and had nothing wrong with them as they were only 2-3 years old, bought new OEM just for a piece of mind.
From whom / where did you buy these "brand new International (valve cover) gaskets"?
I’ve never had mine off myself, but It looks like the harness that plugs into the outside of the valve cover has to be hardwired to the existing wiring on the truck if I’m looking at that Dorman picture correctly? That seems fussy and easy to screw up if so.

Outside of Dorman is the same. Inside (UVCH) is integrated - no plug or place for $0.52 mod.
Immediately above, you posted four "soft" photos of a 25 month "old" Dorman valve cover harness, depicting 4 connectors, but without any explanation as to what you find to be significant about the condition of the connectors pictured.
The photos are too fuzzy for my old eyes to discern what is important to note in your photos, so do you mind pointing out what we should be paying attention to?
The white glow plug wires are split/cracked. One of those is almost a inch long. The blue and red wire are split around the circumference. These pics are of just the one side, the other side also has issues. Only discovered this because I am doing cups and injectors. Doorman was not my choice, they were installed at a shop outside of Gunnison,CO when the original harnesses died leaving me stranded. I flew in 3 weeks later to pick up my truck and travel trailer.
Lifetime warranty to me means you will spend the rest of your life changing said part.
Sorry for the pics, I don't own one of them thar fancy i phones.
Your verbal explanations were all that I needed. Thank you for them! Without your explanation, it was hard to tell if the point of the photos was to illustrate that Dormans were good or bad. Now it is clear that in your case, the Dormans were bad.
25 months isn't very much time. It's hard to get too excited about an import aftermarket part company that specializes in making parts cost less. If a part costs less for us to buy, then it very likely costs less for them to make, as no one stays in business handing out things of value for free.
The OEM production valve cover gaskets on my truck are still in tact after almost 22 years. It took 20 years for the UVCH connection issue to finally manifest (only on passenger side), and at that time, I installed the factory shim kit on both sides.
