Transmission Trouble
I have a 1970 Ford f250 with a 360 & 4 speed transmission. Last night I went 5o shift into reverse and the shifter was able to swing around like it was on a rope. All the forward gears are working like there is nothing wrong. Any ideas

Underneath the shifter cover (not the transmission cover) there is a pin used to keep the shift rod from rotating. They do wear out. Somebody might come along with a diagram...

If you have a T18 tranny here is a pic. The pin GLR mentioned is the 7B125.
