New batteries no power

Hopefully this is going to the right forum. Put two new batteries in today and started the truck. Half hour later went to start it and no power lights horn etc unhooked batteries and checked them on a charger they were good so hooked it back up and it starts. 10 minutes later the same thing like no batteries were in it. Anyone else have this problem before.

Electrical problems are a bit of a pain to diagnose in person, even harder over the internet.

a couple of questions for you:

1. Do you hear the fuel bowl filling when the key is turned on but she will not start?
2. do you have a way of monitoring battery voltage while trying to start?

I would start by checking two things.

1. the battery ground cables. check to make sure there is a clean connection where they connect to the frame or block.

2. There are two T-30 torx bolts behind the steering column. You can see them when you look up with a flashlight from the brake & gas pedal. When these loosen up they will cause a no start, but you still should have lights.

When you turn the key there is nothing. No wait to start nothing. I will check those torx screws in the morning

the two torx bolts under the steering column for the shift lever are T-25, not T-30 like I posted above

Are the battery wires corroded where they connect to the clamps for the battery posts?
