i think that is a very good price. to find the build date on the engine, look on the left valve cover, on the very front part. there will be a serial and code, plus a date in the form of day-month-year. my build date is 20-sep-01. if it was built BEFORE 16-oct-00, then it will have forged rods. GOOD LUCK!
Do you know the history of the Truck? Heard a lot of Katrina trucks are starting to hit the market. They will have a lot of corrosion issues. Sounds a little high to me for a 2X4. But maybe that's what they go for back there. Also any mods or straight stock? Seems like low miles on a '01. Is this a private party sale or dealer?
Any Idea on the maintenance records? Hope this helps.... LPR
I have to agree maybe a little high on price. I did the same year truck 4x4 longbox crew cab 60,000 miles for $21,000 a year ago. I thought that was fair and had a friend that buys & sells auto's and called him & he said BUY he couldnt get the 7.3 any cheaper at auction. He tells me even today the 7.3 is worth more at auction to the Enthusiasts than a 6.0
